Inhimog — Inner Magic — encompasses the two forms of magic that arise from within living beings: Kori, the innate life-flame seeded into all creatures at the world's founding, and Tazri, the arcane energy drawn inward f…

English

Inner Magic is the domain of the self — magic that lives in flesh, soul, and will.

Definition

Summary

Inhimog describes all magic that originates from or passes through a living being. Unlike the world-forces of Kaanurlmog (Yoori and Ykheri), Inhimog magic is active, personal, and subject to individual growth and mastery. It divides into two distinct currents: Kori, which is born within, and Tazri, which is drawn from without.

Distinction From Kaanurlmog

Where Kaanurlmog magic exists independently of mortal will — ambient, ancient, and unchosen — Inhimog magic is wielded. It can be cultivated, trained, and expressed through the unique nature of the individual. Both Kori and Tazri have formal progressions of mastery, each with defined stages of growing power and risk.

Types
Kori
Name
Kori
Translation
In-Energy
Source

The Olu (soul) of the bearer. A primal remnant of the original whole, Pah'Nad, seeded into all life when the world divided.

Nature

Not taught, but awakened. Kori enhances the bearer from within — strength, speed, resilience, healing — and bends itself to match the personality and spirit of its host. No two expressions of Kori are alike.

Progression

Six stages: Ko'Surhul (dormancy) → Ko'Gornazil (stirring) → Ko'Wokazil (ignition) → Ko'Larkzil (steady flame) → Ko'Yolhak (flameweaving) → Ko'Vooklazil (expansion beyond the self).

Ceiling

At its apex, Kori transcends the individual — the master's presence reshapes reality around them, and their essence can be branded into other souls, echoing across generations.

Tazri
Name
Tazri
Translation
Out-Energy
Source

The Arcane Sea (Yoos'Okaaz) — the external reservoir of raw magical energy left behind when Pah'Nad divided. Drawn inward through the caster's Saeje (soul).

Nature

Requires ritual, the Sigtaara language, and mental clarity. Unlike Kori, Tazri can reshape the external world — altering matter, conjuring forces, rewriting reality. But it is corrosive: repeated exposure erodes the Saeje, and losing control invites catastrophe.

Progression

Five stages: Taz'Sulak (shivering reach) → Taz'Gohraazil (listening wake) → Taz'Yokaazil (silent binding) → Taz'Laasok (willwoven rite) → Taz'Zorzulkar (the drowned star).

Ceiling

At its apex, the caster dissolves into the Arcane Sea entirely — the individual ceases to exist, and only an Echo Form remains, altering reality by proximity alone.

Primary Danger
Zaelmonir (soul-drowning): the erosion of the Saeje through uncontrolled Arcane Sea contact.

Interaction
Summary

Kori and Tazri are fundamentally opposed in origin — one internal, one external — and can conflict directly. At the apex of Kori mastery (Ko'Yolhak), a practitioner may develop Fin'Okaaz'Du: the ability to reject and consume foreign Tazri by burning it with life-fire. This is one of the few known points of direct interference between the two currents. In all other respects, they operate independently, through different mechanisms and toward different ends.

Fin Okaaz Du

The unraveling of foreign Tazri by a high Kori master. The life-fire consumes arcane energy. Usable only sparingly — overuse permanently damages the Olu.

Shared Traits
  • Both are active — they require a practitioner to exist and grow.
  • Both have formal progressions through stages of increasing mastery.
  • Both are bound by the limits of the practitioner's body and soul.
  • Both carry risk at extremes: Kori's highest techniques are irreversible; Tazri's highest stages consume the self entirely.
