The greatblade and tome of Amlugon, HANUÍTUZ embodies the unbearable weight of unrealized potential. It is not a tool of ambition, but of abandonment—a weapon forged from the ashes of hope, and a book

Overview

The greatblade and tome of Amlugon, HANUÍTUZ embodies the unbearable weight of unrealized potential. It is not a tool of ambition, but of abandonment—a weapon forged from the ashes of hope, and a book bound in the grief of things that never were. The sword severs ideals at their root, unmaking purpose and dissolving conviction with every swing. The tome, ever-shifting, records not history, but forgotten futures, turning truth into silence and memory into fiction.

Together, they erase not through violence, but through resignation. Those who fall to HANUÍTUZ are not slain—they are unbecome, left hollow in the shape of what they once hoped to be. It is a relic of beautiful despair, as still as a closed eye, and as heavy as the moment you choose never to dream again.

Manufacturing Process

HANUÍTUZ was not created through labor or invocation—it happened, as Amlugon descended into stillness during the Nil’Thur’s severance from the Roir'Daiintuz. As his siblings reached upward or outward, Amlugon looked inward. He sat, unmoving, and unwove hope. The book appeared first, already open. The blade, later—wedged spine-first into his thoughts, then into the world.

Both were born from the paradox of a being who wished to dream no longer, yet could not stop dreaming. Together, they manifest the first and final stage of despair: the moment when one understands that hope is not lost, but chosen against.

Raw Materials

[ul]
- Greatblade Core: Cast from Shadeloss, an alloy made of unmet expectations and calcified resolve
- Edge: Infused with desideric tension, a metaphysical strand stretched taut between despair and denial
- Guard: Forked like a broken question mark—cracked, but never mended
- Tome Cover: Wrapped in vellum of forgotten myths, blackened with soot from dreams burned in fear
- Pages: Crafted from translucent grief-leaves—thin, waxen sheets that flicker between real and unreal when touched

History

HANUÍTUZ has appeared only at the end of wars, when all flags fall and declarations mean nothing. It was once found at the center of a battlefield untouched by combat—its mere presence had caused both armies to surrender their reasons.

The blade’s swing has never been seen. The tome’s reading is never finished.

Those who come into contact with either are often found speaking softly of things that never happened, and refusing to explain why they stopped hoping.

Significance

As one of the Surikgeii, HANUÍTUZ is the Instrument of Collapse—not of nations, or bodies, or time, but of meaning. It does not conquer. It undoes. Where others sever, hide, distort, or burn, HANUÍTUZ simply sits—quiet and patient—and reminds you that nothing you believed was ever real.

Amlugon does not wield HANUÍTUZ in wrath, nor does he preach its wisdom. He simply opens the book, places the blade by his side, and waits for understanding to rot.

Mechanics

HANUÍTUZ, the Greatblade
[ul]
- Dream Severance: The blade cuts not flesh, but belief. Those struck lose their guiding ideals, sometimes permanently.
- Psychic Wake: Each swing leaves a rupture in local thought-space, dulling passion, resolve, and memory in its wake.
- Imprint Fracture: If driven into the ground, it causes surrounding dreamforms—illusions, hopes, idealized projections—to wither or decay.
- Edge of Silence: The sword hums, but only for those who have mourned themselves.
[/ul]
HANUÍTUZ, the Tome
[ul]
- Loreslipping: Passages on any page shift, contradict, or vanish once read, often replacing known facts with aching absences.
- Concept Erasure: Amlugon may write in it with his own blood to unwrite a truth—banishing it from history and memory alike.
- The Page That Waits: There is always one page sealed shut. When forced open, it tells the reader a future they can never reach.
- Binding Gaze: The book compels those who look at its text to remember things they never experienced, creating artificial melancholies that feel real.
