Overview

Wielded only by Hiniel’s veiled executioner-form, ZÍRNBO’OK KIRGTUZ is a towering scythe forged from stillness, sorrow, and time remembered too well. It does not reap life—it severs threads: memory, destiny, continuity. Every swing carves through the fabric of history, isolating events from their consequences, or erasing moments so precisely they leave only a soft, aching silence.

The scythe reveals what should be forgotten, and removes what no longer belongs. To witness it in motion is to feel time slow and the past lean close, whispering things you cannot bear to carry.
Among the Surikgeii, it is the instrument of finality, not through destruction, but through resolution. ZÍRNBO’OK KIRGTUZ does not punish or purify. It simply ends what cannot continue—and leaves behind only the quiet echo of what once was.
Manufacturing Process
Zirnbo'ok Kirgtuz was wrought in the stillness between moments, as the @Nil'Thur cast off the equilibrium of the @Roir'Daiintuz. Hiniel, already aware of what he would lose and gain, retreated into a temporal eddy within the Arcane Sea—a space where time remembered itself backwards. There, he meditated in silence, reflecting on histories yet to come, and traced the arc of the blade through twelve failed timelines before choosing the one that would endure.
The scythe was not merely shaped, but aligned—each component introduced at a moment when it was most true, then sealed by the severing of Hiniel’s final emotional tie to the Roir’Daiintuz: the certainty of order. When the weapon was completed, it rang with a note so ancient it predated song, and so quiet it continues to echo through the folds of memory.
Raw Materials
[ul]
- Spine of the Shaft: Carved from a memory fossil—a petrified remnant of a moment that never happened, harvested from the ruins of pre-Anand'Dinok-a-Laas time.
- Blade: Forged from Timeglass Steel, a metal that cannot rust, fracture, or rest—because it exists in multiple temporal states simultaneously.
- Inlay Veins: Filaments of Sívolē, a lost mineral of the Yoos’Okaaz that hums softly with the passage of forgotten hours.
- Binding Rings: Interlocked gyroscopic loops orbiting the midpoint of the scythe, slowly spinning and keeping its chronology frictionless.

History
Hiniel has only wielded Zirnbo’ok Kirgtuz directly within the Arcane Sea and its peripheries. He refrains from interacting with Fir’Gol, but the scythe’s echo is known even there. In isolated dreams, historians have claimed to see a tall, cloaked figure silently harvesting light from forgotten places—always just before records are lost.
The scythe was instrumental during the Echo Collapse of the Ivory Fold, when a rogue chronomancer nearly fused three timelines. Hiniel appeared, wordless, and with a single arc of the blade, unmade the alternate selves the sorcerer had become—allowing the true version to weep, alone and intact.
Significance
Among the Surikgeii, Zirnbo'ok Kirgtuz is the Instrument of Memory and Mortality—a reminder that time is not a stream, but a woven threadwork, delicate and finite. The scythe is not a tool of destruction, but of closure. It ends stories, trims forgotten potential, and preserves what would otherwise unravel.
Mechanics
Zirnbo’ok Kirgtuz is more than a scythe—it is a chronoblade that severs threads of time itself.
[ul]
- Temporal Severance: A swing from the scythe can cut a target not in body, but in timeline—removing them from their path, history, or possible futures. Targets may find themselves aged, erased, reverted, or frozen, depending on Hiniel’s focus.
- Thread Recognition: The weapon passively reveals timelines anchored to nearby beings. With focus, Hiniel can read a life’s most critical divergence points by watching the blade’s whispering shimmer.
- Anchoring Sweep: By reversing the swing, Hiniel can anchor a target to a fixed temporal state, protecting them from manipulation, decay, or progression.
- Memory-Tether Activation: When striking an area dense with historical resonance, the blade may awaken ghosts—not spirits of the dead, but moments of emotional significance, played out again for any present to witness.
