"overview": "Ael'theryn stands as the oldest city on the continent of Siniath and the greatest achievement in Kaelotaedhel architecture.\n\nLying on the northern coast of, what is nowadays known as, the Triumvirate of Thalon, it was supposedly founded back in the Second Age. The name of it's founder has long been forgotten and these days is only referred to as the \"Great Teacher\".\n\nThe exact role of this \"Great Teacher\" is shrouded in mystery, but one thing is certain, that it was a elven wizard. The very layout of the city and it's inhabitants' attention to detail speak of the work of no ordinary being. It is also known as the first ever city to delve into the art of magic on a bigger scale.\n\nThe ancient towers overlooking the sea seem to defy logic, both in their magnificence and their architecture.\n\nNo one knows how the Great Teacher did it, but Ael'theryn has never been breached since it's creation. The Great Teacher must have had unimaginable power.\n\nThere are many rumours surrounding the city and it's founding. Some say, that the Great teacher did not die but, rather, went into a state of hibernation to awaken whenever his power was needed again.\n\nAel'theryn now serves as the capital of the continent spanning nation known as the Triumvirate of Thalon.\n\nLike the nation it lies in, the city is ruled by the Council of Thalon. It consists of the three heads of the most powerful houses in the country.\n\nMost of the inhabitants of Ael'theryn are wizards. They are respected and feared throughout the land, but also very secluded. When the city was founded, magic was so chaotic that it was very hard to control. It resulted in a calamity that changed the landscape, which is why the Council of Thalon now rules with an iron fist to prevent severe breaches of magical laws.",

"overview": "Founded in 1269 AZN at the command of Kaemisyol, the Vaazaa’Dovaajun and first Aalki of the Empire, Vusokaar stands as the blazing heart of the Empire of Revakgol — a city forged from ambition, legacy, and Kori.\n\nRising from the sun-scorched savannahs and backed by the jagged shoulders of the Thovakahn Range, the city was envisioned not merely as a capital, but as a monument: to dragonkind, to conquest, and to the Saarotsos destiny. Today, Vusokaar is the beating core of imperial administration, military doctrine, and spiritual devotion.",
"alternativename": "Fireheart City, The Shimmering City",
"geography": "Vusokaar rises from the heart of Eastern Silgolt, carved into the basalt bones of an ancient plateau. Its elevation grants both strategic advantage and symbolic prominence — a city quite literally above others, forged atop volcanic stone and scorched ambition.\n\nTo the north and west stretch the Medestul Steppes, a vast expanse of dry grassland and rolling semi-desert. Sparsely inhabited and treacherously open, the Medestul serves as both natural barrier and hunting ground, echoing with the cries of wind and wandering spirits. Few dare settle there; fewer still endure.\n\nTo the south, the land descends toward the Summer Sea, a shimmering expanse of salt and storm that tempers Vusokaar’s heat with oceanic winds — when it wills to. The coast, though distant, serves as a vital artery for trade, warships, and salt-haulers bound for imperial ports.\n\nThe city itself is wedged between two great rivers: the Yhuhyh to the west and the Valaa to the east. These twin lifelines carve deep channels through the parched earth, and though they run dry in the height of summer, their banks still cradle fertile terraces and ancestral forges. Together, they form a cradle of power — a shield of flowing boundaries, feeding the land even as the skies withhold.",
"demographics": "The population of Vusokaar reflects the confluence of conquest, memory, and migration. Once a frontier outpost and now a directly ruled imperial zone under the Aalki's gaze, its streets, forges, and underways teem with representatives from every corner of the Revakgol Empire. Demographics here are not only a matter of numbers but of power, proximity, and purpose.\n\n1. Saarotsos (Dragonborn of Flame and Dominion)\n\nBy far the most numerous in Vusokaar, the Saarotsos form the backbone of its military and industrial infrastructure. As the empire’s favored sons and daughters, they populate the Yol’Tikjootuz (artisan-engineer) castes, the Tufae (warrior-champions), and administrative layers of the city. Their culture shapes the rhythm of daily life, and their presence is as ubiquitous as it is dominant — from forge halls to flame sanctuaries.\n\n2. Zegtuzsos (Scaled Ancients of the North)\n\nThe Zegtuzsos remain numerous in the wake of the Great Wyrm War — not as a conquered people, but as retained sovereigns, their Paathur system largely preserved. Though subordinated to imperial will, they maintain distinctive enclaves and ceremonial authority. Many act as keepers of wyrm-history, ritual masters, or tactical advisors. Their presence is tolerated with wary respect.\n\n3. Lingraasos (Turtleblood of Julot)\n\nThird in population, the Lingraasos are a stabilizing presence in Vusokaar — builders, water-menders, and subtle diplomats. Their communities cluster near aquifers and river-inlets, often managing irrigation, hydro-rituals, and the city’s waste systems. While seen as peaceful, their water-magic and communal unity give them quiet political leverage.\n\n4. Kaekreaedhel (The Forged and the Free)\n\nA massive diaspora from Siniath, the Kaekreaedhel have found in Vusokaar something they rarely possess elsewhere: respect. No longer viewed as tools or threats, they serve across security corps, arcane industries, and logistical networks. Many enclaves flourish in the stone-shadowed districts, marked by murals of fire, chain, and reclamation. Their numbers rival the Lingraasos, and their loyalty to the Empire — hard-earned and wary — is ironclad.\n\n5. Kaemisaedhel (The Watchers of Shadow)\n\nThough fewer in number, the Kaemisaedhel of Vusokaar hold a distinct role — often working as spies, ritualists, shadow-cartographers, and arcane consultants. Their sharp-edged elegance and mastery of lowlight navigation are valued in the underground and espionage sectors. While mistrusted in some circles, they are rarely disrespected.\n\n6. Manaet (sig. Maan + Naet = “Pink-Flesh”) — Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings\n\nGrouped under the draconic slur Manaet, these peoples — mostly immigrants, contract laborers, or minor merchants — are tolerated more than embraced. They form the bulk of Vusokaar’s lowest caste labor and remain largely unrepresented in governance. However, many Manaet communities are tight-knit and fiercely self-reliant, sometimes forming alliances with sympathetic Kaekreaedhel or Lingraasos neighborhoods.\n\n7. Lokraasos and Aedhelirsos (The Rare Flame and the Woven Threshold)\n\nOnly a handful of each dwell in Vusokaar — and even then, they rarely remain long. A Lokraasos commands immediate deference wherever she walks, her presence akin to divine commentary. The few Aedhelirsos, meanwhile, serve as envoys, arcane artisans, or quiet observers of imperial behavior. Their rarity is such that their appearance often sparks ritual or political reverberation, regardless of intent.",
"defences": "Vusokaar was never meant to be taken. It was meant to endure. Every stone, every angle, every overlook speaks to Saarotsos philosophy — that the strength of a city lies not in its walls alone, but in the unyielding will of those who built them.\n\nThe city rises atop a basalt plateau, with sheer cliffs guarding its western and northern flanks, dropping into the wild steppes of the Medestul. Natural terrain forms the first defense; no army ascends the plateau without being seen, and none crosses it without cost. To the east and south, where the land is more forgiving, tiered bulwarks of drakonite and ash-glass descend like stepped fangs into the plains, laced with kill-chutes and boiling-pitch traps.\n\nThe Outer Wall — known as the Korthaal Veil — stands nearly forty cubits high and twelve thick at its base. Fashioned from interlocking drakonite blocks, it is inscribed with glyphs of warding, old as Kaemisyol himself, and polished smooth to deny climbers. Ballista towers and wyrm-oil mortars are spaced in concentric hexagonal patterning, allowing overlapping arcs of fire no matter the direction of assault.\n\nBeyond the wall, the Citadel Spine serves as the military heart of the city. Fortified chambers and subterranean rally-halls link directly to the Wyrmblade Grounds, where elite companies train year-round in sun, storm, and shadow. Command legates operate from Juwur’Ygir — the Ember-Hall — dispatching orders along fire-path relays that connect every gate, garrison, and watchtower in the city.\n\nGates are few and sacred, guarded by twin units: the Saan’tazkul (Ash-Wardens), drawn from the Saarotsos elite, and the Vashtakarai, a feared Zegtuzsos corps known for their cold discipline and flame-branded masks. Each gate seals with a triple-lock system — mechanical, magical, and ceremonial — requiring not just key and command, but invocation.\n\nBeneath the city, a final layer of defense: sealed catacombs and siphon-channels, designed to flood entire districts in molten pitch or choking vapor, should enemies ever breach too deep. It is said that Kaemisyol himself once demonstrated their use… by triggering them during a rebellion, with no warning given to the rebels within.\n\nNo siege of Vusokaar has ever succeeded. Not in the age of conquest. Not in the years since.",
"infrastructure": "At the heart of the Empire of Revakgol, Vusokaar stands as both a fortress and a declaration — a city forged, not merely built. Its infrastructure reveals the dual obsessions of its architects: immortality through design, and control through precision.\n\nFoundations of Flame and Stone\n\nVusokaar’s bones were laid by the Yol’Tikjootuz, dovagoraan citizens who had awakened their Kori and earned the honor of shaping the empire’s sacred body. These were not mere masons — they were flamewrights, geomancers, and visionaries whose work would outlast generations.\n\nThe city is carved from drakonite, a heat-resistant stone quarried from the nearby Thovakahn Range. This mineral, dense and faintly iridescent, does not crack under the noon sun nor yield to time. Its surfaces gleam with carved reliefs of Saarotsos conquest, dragons in mid-flight, and the sigils of the early clans. The stone does not merely support; it speaks — of heritage, of supremacy, of the divine right to rule.\n\nWater in the Womb of the Rock\n\nBeneath the gleaming walls, Vusokaar hides its true miracle: a web of cisterns and subterranean reservoirs. Designed to capture and preserve every drop of rain from the fleeting wet season, these hidden veins keep the city alive through months of blistering drought.\n\nThe irrigation system is seamless, feeding crops, groves, and even training arenas through stone channels and elevated aqueducts. No water is wasted — runoff from baths, kitchens, and courtyards is reclaimed into greywater gardens. Even ceremonial plazas are laid with sloped terraces that direct rainwater toward underground storage. Survival is not an accident; it is engineered.\n\nThe City of Rings\n\nVusokaar’s surface is built in concentric circles, each ring a functional barrier and a symbol of order. At the core rises the Citadel Spine, seat of the Juwur'Ygir (“Ember-Hall”) and the Aalki’s dominion. Around it, the Obsidian Market, Archive Vaults, and Wyrmblade Grounds form a spiral of trade, memory, and martial discipline.\n\nWide causeways and tiered plazas ensure that legions can mobilize instantly. The layout is as much a military map as it is a civic plan — designed to move armies as easily as ideas.\n\nBuilt to Exalt, Built to Endure\n\nEvery corner of Vusokaar fuses function and reverence. Doorways are shaped like open jaws. Public halls echo with vaulted ceilings in the shape of wings. Even sewer grates bear the marks of fire-etched runes.\n\nTo build in Vusokaar is to declare fealty to flame, and to acknowledge that every stone is part of a living empire.",
"guilds": "Alongside the noble houses, the merchant guilds of Vusokaar play a pivotal role in shaping the city's economic landscape. These powerful organizations control vast networks of trade and commerce, monopolizing key industries and markets to amass wealth and influence. Through their financial prowess and extensive connections, the merchant guilds exert significant sway over government policy and decision-making, often aligning themselves with whichever faction best serves their interests.\nReligious institutions also hold considerable sway within Vusokaar, with temples and shrines dedicated to the veneration of dragon deities and ancestral spirits dotting the cityscape. The clergy wield both spiritual and political authority, offering guidance to the populace while leveraging their influence to advance their own agendas. Whether through charitable works, religious edicts, or diplomatic maneuvering, the clergy exert a profound impact on the social fabric of Vusokaar.\n\nIn addition to these prominent factions, various civic organizations, trade unions, and clandestine societies operate in the shadows, seeking to tip the scales of power in their favor. From grassroots activists advocating for social reform to clandestine cabals plotting political intrigue, these groups add layers of complexity to Vusokaar's political landscape, their agendas often hidden behind a veil of secrecy and deception.",
"history": "In the heart of the Silgolt continent, nestled amidst rugged mountains and winding rivers, lies the ancient city of Vusokaar. According to the founding mythos cherished by its people, Vusokaar's origins trace back to the primordial days of the world, when the first dragons soared across the skies and shaped the land with their mighty claws.\nLegend has it that Vusokaar was not built by mortal hands but was rather forged by the breath of the Great Wyrm, Revak, whose scales shimmered like the purest gold and whose roar could shake the very foundations of the earth. Revak, the progenitor of dragonkind, sought a sanctuary where his descendants could gather, learn, and thrive under the guidance of his wisdom.\n\nWith a sweep of his wings and a thunderous bellow, Revak breathed life into the barren earth, causing mountains to rise and valleys to form. In the heart of this newly formed landscape, he imbued a mighty fortress with his own essence, shaping it into a grand citadel of shimmering spires and towering ramparts.\n\nThis citadel, bathed in the radiant glow of dragonfire, became known as Vusokaar, the City of the Wyrm. It was a place of wonder and splendor, where dragons of all colors and sizes congregated to share knowledge, hone their skills, and pay homage to their illustrious ancestor.\n\nAs time passed, mortal races emerged across Silgolt, and tales of Vusokaar spread far and wide. It became a beacon of hope and aspiration for dragonkin and non-dragonkin alike, drawing seekers of wisdom and fortune from every corner of the continent.\n\nIt was amidst the hallowed halls of Vusokaar that Kaemisyol, then known as Zelguh Kairtis, first heard the whispers of destiny. Guided by the ancient prophecies foretelling the rise of a great leader who would unite the dragonkin tribes, Kaemisyol embarked on a quest to fulfill his destiny and carve his name into the annals of history.\n\nAnd so, the city of Vusokaar stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of the dragons, a symbol of strength, wisdom, and unity in a world fraught with chaos and discord. From its sacred walls, the Empire of Revakgol would emerge, ushering in a new era of prosperity and enlightenment for the eastern Silgolt realms that fell under its banner.",
"industry": "Vusokaar thrives not merely as a capital, but as a vein of molten gold running through the heart of the Empire of Revakgol. It is a city that forges its power as it forges its blades — with heat, force, and precision.\n\nThe city’s industries are dominated by the Yol’Tikjootuz, a caste of Kori-awakened artisans, smiths, and engineers. These are not mere laborers, but spiritual craftsmen — flamebound minds whose every strike upon an anvil echoes divine purpose. Their foundries, known as ko’zundraal, belch heat and sparks day and night, producing the Empire’s most revered arms, armor, and ceremonial relics.\n\nDrakonite carving, metal shaping, and scale-glazing form the backbone of Vusokaar’s craft tradition. From ornamental banners of shimmering ore-thread to precision-calibrated siege claws, every good bears the seal of mastery and sacred fire. Particularly sought after are kethaal sigils — enchanted medallions carved by those who have mastered both Kori and stone, said to hum faintly when held near true flame.\n\nTrade flows in disciplined torrents, regulated by imperial decree. Vusokaar is a terminus on two major land routes: the Valaa Span Road and the Saar’tol Conduit, which wind north toward the Medestul steppes and east into the frontier provinces. Merchant caravans — often Dovjun-regulated — bring raw ore, spices, precious flora, and manaet finery from the southern coasts. In return, Vusokaar exports military hardware, refined drakonite, sacred relics, and arcane-forged implements.\n\nThe Obsidian Market, the city’s famed trade hub, is no bazaar of bartering voices. It is a vaulted, tiered forum — run by Flameledgers appointed by the Aalki’s emissaries. Here, contracts are etched in stone, sealed in fire, and enforced by oathsteel. Even Zegtuzsos traders, known for their suspicion of centralized control, bring their wares to Vusokaar’s flameproof vaults for evaluation and sale.\n\nVusokaar’s secondary trades include irrigation engineering, alchemical tincturing, and beast-mount husbandry, particularly of the rhak’tûr, armored beasts favored by elite Saarotsos riders. Seasonal industries bloom briefly — like storm-resin harvesting during the rains — but most of the city’s wealth flows from permanence, not chance.",
"architecture": "The architecture of Vusokaar is a symphony of power and reverence, where every column and arch bears the echo of dragonkind’s ancient dominion. Shaped by Saarotsos pride and imperial precision, the city does not merely stand — it proclaims.\n\nAt its heart lies drakonite, a volcanic stone drawn from the deep bones of the Thovakahn Range. Though unyielding, its sun-kissed surfaces shimmer faintly — as if the stone itself remembers fire. Drakonite blocks are cut massive, each piece a tribute to discipline and mastery. Mortar is almost absent; instead, the stones lock as though the city was not built but unearthed whole.\n\nBuildings climb in tiered spires and toothlike ridges, reminiscent of a dragon’s back. From afar, Vusokaar gleams like the fossilized skeleton of a long-dead wyrm, sleeping beneath an unforgiving sky. Reliefs line the stone — scenes of conquest, flame-ritual, blood-oath, and flight. Dragons loom in bas-relief, wings unfurled over arched gateways and temple walls. Each carving is not merely artistic, but didactic — a lesson etched into the city's skin.\n\nRooflines are capped with wyrmwood, timber felled from the high forests beyond the Valaa, then blackened and sealed against sun and time. It is warm, red-veined, and resilient — the perfect foil to drakonite’s cool gleam. Banners of brilliant cloth dance from balconies and rooftops, bearing clan sigils and imperial glyphs in scarlet, gold, and obsidian.\n\nDomes and gables wear glazed tiles in amethyst, cobalt, and deep viridian, their hues changing as the day lengthens or fades. Murals — some centuries old — spill across whitewashed walls, depicting Kaemisyol’s early conquests, the taming of rivers, and dragons coiling through clouds above burning steppes.\n\nNo structure is ornamental alone. Even temples serve as watchtowers. The great gatehouses, wide enough for ten Dovaasos riders abreast, are flanked by bronze dragon heads, mouths agape in perpetual warning. Inside, stone ribs line every major hall, invoking the memory of a dragon’s breast — protective, enclosing, sacred.",
"government": "As the capital of the Empire of Revakgol, Vusokaar is ruled directly by the Aalki — the living flame-throne of the Saarotsos. No Dovjun presides here. No provincial authority has claim. Every law, appointment, and ritual emerges from the will of the Aalki and is enforced without mediation.\n\nDirect Rule of the Aalki\n\nAt the heart of the capital stands the Juwur'Ygir (\"Ember-Hall\"), the sacred seat of governance. From its obsidian core, the Aalki commands the Empire. His voice echoes through a corps of chosen Furaktuz'Disaa — emissary-governors — who execute imperial will across the city's layers. These figures are not politicians; they are instruments of rule, empowered, watched, and replaceable.\n\nThere is no senate. No council of elders. Just the flame, and those who serve it.\n\nThe Yol’Tikjootuz\n\nThe Yol’Tikjootuz — “Those Who Bear the Inward Flame” — are not a political institution, but they dominate Vusokaar’s social and magical hierarchy. The term refers to all dovagoraan who have awakened their Kori — the inherent essence of flameborn magic.\n\nWhile the Yol’Tikjootuz are not guaranteed authority, many high-level administrators, arcane engineers, and imperial enforcers are drawn from their ranks. In Vusokaar, awakening one's Kori is a path to influence, but never autonomy. The Aalki’s favor remains the only true guarantee of power — and the only true protection from annihilation.\n\nOther Peoples Under Rule\n\nNon-dovagoraan — especially the Manaet (“pink-flesh”: humans, dwarves, gnomes, halflings) — are excluded from governance. They may live, trade, or serve, but they do not rule. Even Kaekreaedhel, who are treated far more favorably here than on Siniath, hold positions only at the Aalki’s discretion.\n\nThe Zegtuzsos, former rivals of the Saarotsos, retain cultural leadership through their Paathur caste, but within Vusokaar this is ceremonial. True authority begins and ends in the Juwur'Ygir.",
"constructed": "1269 AZN (5869 MV)",
"climate": "Vusokaar endures a brutal monsoon climate, where extremes are not endured passively but embraced as rites of living. For most of the year, the city bakes under a punishing dry season, with sunlight that sears through stone and wind that tastes of ash and salt. Temperatures routinely soar beyond comfort, reducing the surrounding savannah and desert into blistered gold, cracked and thirsting.\n\nThis harshness is not a threat but a forge. Vusokaar thrives because of the fire, not despite it. The city's foundations conceal an ancient marvel: vast cisterns and hidden reservoirs, carved into the earth by the first Yol’Tikjootuz. These deep veins of captured rainwater sustain the populace during the oppressive drought months, channeled through irrigation spines and subterranean conduits into gardens, groves, and daily life.\n\nThen, without fail, the wet season descends like a tempestuous god. Heralded by violent thunderstorms, crashing skies, and sudden floods, the rains drench the land in short but torrential episodes. What was dead stirs again — the desert blooms, the rivers rise, and Vusokaar exhales. Petrichor clings to the stone, mingling with incense and smoke, as verdant growth erupts in courtyards and groves.\n\nThis rhythm of scorch and surge defines not only the city’s weather, but its soul: disciplined, enduring, and perpetually reborn.",
"district": "Vusokaar’s urban anatomy unfolds in concentric rings, each district carved with intent — militarized, hierarchical, and symbolic. At its center burns the seat of fire-born rule, and from it, the city spirals outward in strict layers of purpose.\n\nThe Citadel Spine\n\nAt the city’s core lies the Citadel Spine, a towering bastion of drakonite spires and flame-burnished gates. This is the political and spiritual heart of the empire — residence of the Aalki, seat of imperial decrees, and home to the sacred Juwur’Ygir (“Ember-Hall”). Here, emissaries, generals, and high ritualists gather under high ceilings veined with molten inlays.\n\nAccess is heavily restricted; only the highest of the Saarotsos bloodlines, select Zegtuzsos strategists, and proven Yol’Tikjootuz may walk its upper tiers unchallenged.\n\nThe Obsidian Market\n\nEncircling the Spine is the Obsidian Market, a shadow-draped bazaar humming with controlled chaos. Stalls of blackened wood and crimson canvas crowd the stone walkways, hawking everything from alchemical oils to carved soulglass and tamed ash-beasts. Here, Lingraasos traders and Kaekreaedhel artisans dominate, their presence vital and tolerated, but always surveilled.\n\nThe market is regulated by Flamewatchers — soldiers empowered to burn contraband and flay extortionists. Trade is sacred, but order is holier.\n\nThe Archive Vaults\n\nBeneath reinforced domes of interlocked sigil-stone rests the Archive Vaults — Vusokaar’s vast memory-bank. Glyphscript tablets, draconic bone-scrolls, and Kori-bound relics are entombed within its halls. These chambers house not only knowledge but warnings: censored tomes, records of pre-Revakgol uprisings, and the sealed philosophies of heretical Yol’Tikjootuz.\n\nKaemisaedhel scholars oversee much of the Vaultwork, bound by oath and collar alike. Every record added must be approved by the Furaktuz’Disaa, the emissary-governor.\n\nThe Wyrmblade Grounds\n\nMilitary heart and ritual crucible, the Wyrmblade Grounds stretch like molten veins around the city’s third ring. Here, Saarotsos and Zegtuzsos initiates train in the Art of Flame and Form — Kori combat, formation drills, and rites of the Ember Path.\n\nThe Grounds host the annual Trial of Flamewrought Bones, a public spectacle where aspiring Yol’Tikjootuz duel for elevation or exile. Surrounding terraces and drill yards are lined with statues of legendary generals, many of whom died during the conquest of the Zegtuzsos lands.\n\nThe Outer Rings\n\nBeyond the martial center lie the living quarters, manufactories, and minor temples. These rings are stratified by bloodline and merit:\n\n[ul]\n- Inner Outer Ring: Homes of the Kaekreaedhel diaspora, treated with measured respect due to their utility and loyalty. Their wards are dense, flame-lit, and humming with craft.\n- Mid Outer Ring: Mixed dwellings of Kaemisaedhel, Manaet (humans, dwarves, halflings), and Lingraasos laborers. Watched by Flamewardens and census scribes.\n- Far Outer Ring: The industrial belt — smithies, tanneries, ash-mills, and kiln-towers. Harsh, loud, and choking with heat and smoke, it is the lung and anvil of Vusokaar.\n[/ul]\n\nLokraasos and Aedhelirsos, few as they are, tend to reside within closely monitored enclaves, often as advisors, ritualists, or bound architects.",
