Package overview — framing for reviewers, not lore to import into canon.
Ask
A first-draft country entity for Kokit, the next spatial-only polity in the western cluster now that Nasun is canon.
The central idea (needs your ruling)
Kokit is the second-smallest named polity on Silgolt at 47 cells. Two rivers in the spatial record carry its name (Lukokit and Kokitlihukyn), which is the one hard hook the map gives us. The proposal builds the country on that: Kokit is the source-country, a poor upland of spring-heads and seasonal woodland sitting on the upper water of rivers that feed richer neighbors downstream.
That gives the western cluster a clean division of function without repeating anyone:
- Hihn survives by keeping the water moving.
- Nasun survives by keeping promises binding.
- Kokit survives by proving, century after century, that it will never touch the water.
Kokit's leverage is entirely potential and it has built its whole identity on refusing to use it. Each Keeper's accession includes the Abstention, a standing renunciation of fouling, damming or diverting, sworn at every named spring in the duchy and then sealed at Nasun. Kokit is also the region's deliberate outlier in form: where its neighbors govern by moot and college, Kokit is genuinely hereditary. The title started as a maintenance job and hardened into a crown.
The Ykheri material is written to canon: springs as places where the land's slow power sits nearest, read by the perceptive and never wielded, with Tazri working taboo near spring-heads because repeated arcane interference in Ykheri's domain accumulates imbalance (magic.overview_magic). This is a different taboo from Nasun's, which is about clean oaths rather than clean water.
Grounding
- Map/spatial: country feature "Kokit"; Silgolt canon lists it at 47 cells (id 33). Rivers Kokitlihukyn and Lukokit carry the name. Proximity clusters Kokit with Aalhotikyn, Hihn, Namuzdus, Nasun and Tuzraag; provinces Hak, Krikivgithil, Nagos, Voslaalor and Xarath and the river Mokek appear nearby.
- Canon: The Nasun Ground (Kokit is already listed there as a neighbor, and Nasun's archive practice is reused here rather than reinvented); The Hihn Confluence (downstream sibling; its canon line about Kaetijulhel communities upstream where the tributaries run fast and cold is what the demography here leans on); Silgolt culture tallies; magic.overview_magic (Ykheri, Tazri); species.firgol.sentient.dovagoraan.zegtuzsos (distribution given as eastern Silgolt, so Zegtuzsos are kept marginal here).
- Lexicon: daiintuz "keeper, guardian", danyk "source". The ruling title Daiintuz'Danyk / Daiintuzdanyk, Source-Keeper, is a proposed Sigtaara-styled coinage, flagged as non-canon in the entity.
Canon check I ran
Nasun's canon file states its archive holds compacts older than every dynasty currently reigning around it. Kokit's Abstentions are therefore written as the longest continuously renewed series in that archive, not its oldest documents, so the Kokit dynasty stays younger than the archive itself.
What each item does
- This overview.
- One new country entity:
countries_and_continents.continents.silgolt.nations.kokit.duchy_of_kokit.
Invented (flagged in the entity)
The source-country premise, the upland relief, the Daiintuz'Danyk title and dynasty, the Abstention and the Walk, spring-rent, the Well-Wardens, the demography split, and all history framing. Dates left open.
Open questions
- The relief claim is inference, not map fact. I could not read cell heights for Kokit through MCP. If Kokit is flat, the spring-head framing needs rework, though the river-name hook survives.
- Do Lukokit and Kokitlihukyn actually rise in Kokit, or only pass through it? Written as "upper course" and hedged.
- Neighbor list is provisional again (Hihn, Nasun, Tuzraag, Aalhotikyn, Namuzdus). Adjacency file still unreadable from here.
- Namuzdus is by far the largest neighbor at 1015 cells and has no lore; it is referenced only as a looming presence and nothing is asserted about it.
- Optional follow-up if you like this: a field patch adding the Abstentions to Nasun's archive section, and a Tradition entity for the Walk. Both held back pending your call on the premise.
