Package overview — framing for reviewers, not lore to import into canon.

Produce a first-draft country entity for the map feature Komistaal, selected at random from the spatial-only countries with no canon entity and no prior candidate package.
The central finding (needs your ruling)
Komistaal is almost certainly not an unwritten country. Canon already names it, under a different spelling.
countries_and_continents.continents.siniath.nations.thalonstates that "the Kaemisaedhel-ruled island of Kormistahl off the eastern coast" sits outside Thalon's jurisdiction, across a 50 to 100 km strait patrolled under the Tide Accord, and that reasserting influence over it is a standing Thalonian aim.history.events.kaemisaedhel_exodus_to_kormistahl(MV 7100-7200 / AMD 700-800) records persecuted Kaemisaedhel fleeing Siniath and founding a homeland on the island of Kormistahl, while others retreated into the continent's eastern mountains.- Map_spatial holds Komistaal as both a country and its own landmass, and the spatial brief labels it "Komistaal Kingdom".
One island, one Kaemisaedhel polity, one continent, near-identical name. I have written the entity on the assumption that these are the same place, but I have not treated that as settled. If you rule against the identification, this entity should be rejected outright rather than revised, because its whole spine is the exodus.
Spelling also needs a decision. Canon_json uses Kormistahl; map_spatial uses Komistaal. I led with the canon spelling and carried the map spelling as an alias.
What this item does
One new entity item: a country document for the kingdom, shaped to the country template guideline and following the structural style of hihn_confluence.json.
What is canon-derived vs proposed
Canon-derived (not invented): the founding exodus and its dates; Kaemisaedhel ancestry from Hah'Slen via the First Blood of the Boughs; the split between those who fled and those who stayed in the eastern mountains; independence from Thalon; the strait and the Tide Accord; Thalon's designs on the island; Tazri affinity and the necromancy / blood magic / echo magic / veilcraft profile; face-marking, memory-chants, silent-mourning tree-seeding, hair braiding, blood sacrifice; the values of endurance, resistance to domination, freedom of identity, kin loyalty, and hierarchy by achievement and beauty; the taboos on sunlight and on true names; occasional slavery of non-elves; Sindala as native language; the Zaesulsil Pahnir and the clans that reject the Nil'Thur; the Cult of Esoteric Paradoxes association.
Proposed by me (invented, flagged in-text): the monarchy's actual mechanics and the throne title Kormahn; the Chanters as a constitutional check; the grove-timber sacrilege and its economic consequences; the canopy-and-karst reading of the island's rainforest and wetland biomes; the salt-and-shadow export profile; the doctrine of unprofitable defence; the demonym; the motto; the population figure.
Map-derived, provisional: province names Chyran, Dregar, Mipalsin and Vidurth, and the river names, all returned by spatial proximity for Komistaal. I used them rather than coining new geography, but proximity results are fuzzy and may not all belong to the island.
Open questions
- Is Komistaal = Kormistahl? Everything hangs on this.
- Which spelling wins?
- File placement. I used
countries_and_continents.continents.siniath.nations.kormistahl.*, but the island is its own landmass in map_spatial and may deserve its own branch. - Population. The Thalon entity documents a sharp conflict between narrative population figures and map extraction. I scaled to narrative canon and flagged it.
- The monarch in 130 ABP is left unnamed on purpose. Naming a head of state is a heavier canon commitment than I should make unasked.
- Kaekreaedhel policy. Kormistahl sheltering its own genetic descendants would be a live provocation toward Thalon after the Unbinding Purge. I raised it as a tension without resolving it.
- Sindala coinages (Kormahn, the demonym, the motto) are stylistic guesses. No Sindala language profile exists in
list_languages, so they could not be generated from phonology.
