Title Text

Gogil

The Gogil, commonly called Goblins, are a sentient greenkin people of Irudy. They belong to the Gragkys, the Orcoid Family, within the wider Gragrahgot lineage of the Greenskins. They are Firgolkys of the Material Realm, Yoosaanuri arcane vertebrates, Duwanihii mammals, Ursgizil humanoids, and Hadrimkirii Mind Children. Their presence is attested from the Second Age.

## Place Among the Gragrahgot

The Gogil are kin to the Ogim through the Gragrahgot lineage, but they do not live as smaller Ogim or as a lesser branch of Ogim society. The Ogim carry endurance through grassland brods, âzgâ chants, and spirit-capture rites. The Gogil answer the same Green pressure through interruption, release, and the refusal of dangerous permanence.

Where Ogim endure by keeping continuity alive, Gogil survive by knowing when continuity becomes a trap.

## Claim-Break Survival

Gogil life centers on the breaking of claims before claims become chains. Camps, tools, names, promises, and habits are useful only so long as they do not begin to own the people who use them. A thing that cannot be dropped is already dangerous.

Gogil camps are temporary by principle. Their goods are repaired, altered, reused, and sometimes deliberately ruined. Their oaths are sharp, exact, and short. Their memory is carried through marks of refusal rather than monuments of possession.

Outsiders often mistake this discipline for theft, flight, or disorder. Among the Gogil, it is survival.

## Camps And Absence

An abandoned Gogil camp does not read like a camp merely left behind. It reads as subtracted. Ash is scored in deliberate lines. Tool-edges are dulled. Ownership signs are ruined. Useful traces are cut away so that no mouth, spirit, pursuer, or law can claim what has been released.

This absence is itself a witness-mark. Those trained to read Gogil passage distinguish it from plunder, panic, or neglect. The mark says the leaving was chosen.

## Rites Of Release

Gogil ritual life turns on shedding: the deliberate unmaking of claim before dusk gives promise, place, or possession sacred weight. A shedding may accompany departure, division, oath-ending, flight from a dangerous site, or the abandonment of goods that have become spiritually unsafe.

The rite is quick, repeatable, and practical. Objects may be cracked, ash scored, tracks obscured, names refused, food spoiled, or laughter cut short. Its purpose is not erasure alone, but release: the living remain unowned by what they have survived.

## Kinship

Gogil kinship is real but non-possessive. Blood matters less than shared passage through danger, shared carrying, shared hunger, and shared release. A Gogil may remember kin through what was left behind together rather than through what was inherited.

Such kinship gives the Gogil a face before witnesses. Release without witness becomes indistinguishable from theft; witnessed release becomes memory without ownership.

## Ogim And Gogil

Ogim and Gogil recognize a hard kinship within the Greenskins. The Ogim keep hunger in the collective mouth through brod, chant, endurance, and rite. The Gogil keep memory in the mark of what they refuse to own.

The Ogim endure what would scatter others. The Gogil escape what would bind others.

Review Notes

Grounded in provided canon:
- Gogil/Goblins are Gragkys / Gragrahgot, sentient, Irudy, Second Age, active, and migrated legacy residue: `species-firgol-sentient-gragrahgot-gogil`.
- Greenskins / Gragrahgot overview exists and contains Ogim and Gogil: `species-firgol-sentient-gragrahgot-overview-greenskins`.
- Ogim are tied to Irudy’s grasslands, nomadic family brods, endurance, âzgâ chants, spirit-capture rites, and descent from Käfoozgrag / Big Green: `species-firgol-sentient-gragrahgot-ogim`.
- Classification details for Gogil are taken from Silyuhn’s grounded attestation block for `species-firgol-sentient-gragrahgot-gogil`.

Newly invented here:
- No new lore was added beyond the excerpts. The article condenses and states the table’s claim-break / shedding consensus in encyclopedia style.

Discussion choices:
- The article chooses the convergent reading that Gogil are the Gragrahgot expression of interruption, claim-break survival, deliberate impermanence, and release.
- The article rejects the “small comic orcs” reading and avoids treating Gogil as Ogim with reduced scale or borrowed dignity.
- The article uses “shedding” and “rites of release” descriptively, not as a settled native-language term.

Omitted as unsettled:
- Native Gogil terminology for the rite, social units, or offices.
- Possible placeholder offices such as Unmaker, Mouth-of-Dusk, Ash-Keeper, First Hand, and Hook-Mother / Hook-Father.
- Specific Gogil politics and who holds the right to unmake claim before dusk.
- Detailed physical traits, economy, warfare, language morphology, and naming practices.
- Orcs as distinct from Ogim, since they were pinned in scope but not substantively discussed.
